Four-thread direct-drive overlock — the apparel-line workhorse for seam overlocking and edge finishing on light-through-heavy materials. Submerged-table configuration ready for production-floor placement.

Who runs this

Apparel contract manufacturers running cotton wovens, jersey knits, blended performance fabrics. Workwear shops needing edge-finished seam allowances on uniforms and coveralls. Anywhere the seam allowance has to look clean inside and the edge has to resist fraying through wash cycles.

Four-thread is the standard apparel construction overlock — both stitches the seam and finishes the edge in one pass. Different from the SW 747 / 933 / 953 specialty variants that add vacuum threading or 5-thread safety stitches.

Why this overlock over a Juki MO-6904 or Pegasus M732

Direct drive, no belt to maintain. Belted overlock motors drift over time as the belt stretches. Direct drive doesn't. One less variable on the line.
Submerged-table setup, on wheels. Table-flush head height for ergonomics across long shifts; wheels for line reconfiguration. The configuration apparel shops actually run, not the bench-top variant.
Optimized 4-thread threading path. Re-threading is the daily friction on overlock — every operator thread change costs minutes. The 700e series simplifies the threading path so change-overs run faster.

Knit shirt construction

Side seams and shoulder seams on a cotton-jersey t-shirt. Four-thread overlock both seams the panels and finishes the seam allowance in one pass.

Workwear edge finishing

Coverall inseam edge finishing on heavy twill cotton. The overlock prevents the cut edge from unraveling through wash cycles in industrial laundry.

Performance apparel

Athletic-wear seam construction on technical jersey. 4-thread holds the stretch through fitting and washing without seam pucker.
