Why direct drive on cylinder bed

No belt to retension. Cylinder-bed work involves frequent corner pivots — boot shafts, saddle skirts, drum cushions all wrap curves. Belt-driven motors drift over time; direct drive doesn't. Less maintenance.
Low-speed torque on heavy leather. Cylinder work on saddle-grade leather needs stitch-by-stitch placement at fingertip-slow speeds. Direct drive holds full torque at any speed; servo systems drop torque at very low RPM.
Triple unison feed. Same as the SW-335 family — needle feed, bottom feed, walking presser foot moving in sync. Slip-resistance on multi-layer leather around the cylinder.
